This page describes how ClipVerba handles data while its free beta is available.
Video links and processing
For TikTok and Instagram links, the server fetches the public video, extracts its audio, and sends the audio to OpenAI for transcription. For YouTube Shorts, the server may send the public video URL to Google's Gemini API for direct video transcription. Temporary local media files are deleted when processing ends. The transcript is sent to your browser; the site does not currently save transcript text in its account database.
Accounts and limits
We store the email address you enter, a one-way password hash, session records, and quota records in a server-side database. We do not verify ownership of the email address. IP addresses are transformed with a secret-key hash for abuse limits rather than kept as plain IP text in that database. Hosting and security logs may retain request details separately.
External services
OpenAI processes extracted audio, and Google's Gemini API may process public YouTube Shorts. Each service handles data under its own terms. A video preview loads from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube only after a link is entered; that platform may receive normal browser information when its embed loads.
Payments
Payment processing is not active. No card details are collected by this beta.
